Partial Dentures

If you have lost all your teeth or a set of neighboring teeth, having dentures placed on your mouth is one of the best ways to restore your smile. Basically, there are two types of dentures that you can get: complete dentures if you are missing all of your upper and lower set of teeth; and partial dentures if only a set of teeth are missing. Partial dentures are ideal for those who are missing a set of teeth, but the neighboring teeth remain healthy. This is a good way to fill out and restore your smile if you have missing teeth.

Once you and your dentist decide that partial dentures are the best solution for restoring your smile, you can either go for a precision partial clasp which is hidden from view when you smile – or you can settle for a conventional partial clasp. Caring for partial dentures should be done with utmost care. You should brush it daily to remove the food deposits and plaque. Once the partial dentures have been constructed, ask your dentist about the length of time that you are required to wear them. At first, you may be required to wear the partial dentures round-the-clock. Once it has been determined that they fit your mouth properly, then they are ideally worn during the day and taken out of your mouth before going to bed.
