Your Gateway to a Radiant Smile: Dive into a Denture Consultation

At Alberta Dentures, we are committed to making your experience as smooth and comfortable as possible. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of what you can expect when you choose us for your denture care:

Step 1:
Warm Welcome & Information Collection

From the moment you walk through our doors, you will be greeted by our friendly staff who are here to make you feel at home. We’ll collect all the necessary information, including your medical history, dental records, and insurance details. This initial step ensures we have everything we need to tailor our services to your unique needs.

Step 2:
Consultation Appointment

Your journey to a confident smile begins with a comprehensive consultation. During this appointment, we take the time to get to know you, asking questions about your goals and main concerns. We want to understand what matters most to you, whether it’s improving comfort, aesthetics, or functionality.

Next, we perform a thorough examination of your mouth, assessing your oral health and any specific issues that need attention. Based on both our professional evaluation and your personal requests, we present a range of options that address your needs, considering both short-term solutions and long-term care.

Step 3:
Tailored Treatment Plan & Financial Planning

Once we’ve discussed your treatment options, we provide a clear, personalized plan that balances your immediate needs with long-term outcomes. This is your opportunity to ask questions and choose the option that best fits your goals.

After deciding on the best course of action, we sit down to map out the financial details. We will contact your insurance provider to obtain a pre-determination, ensuring that you have a clear understanding of your coverage. You will receive a detailed breakdown of the costs, so there are no surprises along the way.

Step 4:
Treatment & Execution

With your plan in place, we move forward with your treatment. Our skilled team will handle every step of the process with care and precision. Since we craft all dentures in-house — from complete dentures to partial dentures — we can ensure a high level of quality control, allowing for quicker adjustments and turnaround times.

Step 5:
Ongoing Maintenance & Support

Our commitment to your smile doesn’t end once your dentures are in place. We schedule regular maintenance appointments to ensure that your dentures remain in top condition. These check-ups allow us to make any necessary adjustments, ensuring your comfort and prolonging the life of your prosthetics.

The Government of Canada has launched the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to improve dental care accessibility and affordability for those unable to afford essential oral health services.

How Does It Work-

The CDCP, set to start covering dental treatments in May 2024, is a publicly funded benefit for individuals with annual household incomes below $90,000 who lack private dental insurance. The plan subsidizes part of the cost for oral health treatments to prevent and treat dental disease, helping reduce the risk of related serious health issues.

Who qualifies for the CDCP-
Eligible participants must:

  • Be Canadian residents for tax purposes
  • Have filed an income tax return for the previous year
  • Do not have dental insurance through a private or pension plan or with an employer.
  • Have a net family income of less than $90,000 per year

What dental services are covered-

The CDCP has its own fee guide to determine covered treatment costs, which may differ from provincial or territorial fee guides. Since some treatments require co-payments, patients may still need to cover a portion of their treatment costs. These out-of-pocket costs are based on a family’s net income from the 2023 year.

The following table illustrates CDCP coverage and patient co-payment percentages by net family income:

Net Family IncomeCovered by CDCPCovered by Patient according to 2023 year Fee Guide
Below $70,000100%0%
$70,000 – $79,99960%40%
$80,000 – $89,99940%60%

How Can I Apply for the CDCP-

Eligible Canadians can apply online or over the phone. Application periods are staggered with 18 to 64 year old becoming eligible in 2024.

All remaining eligible Canadian residents will be eligible later in 2025. Application dates have not been announced.

Eligible patients can apply online here. Those who cannot apply online, can apply by phone: 1-833-537-4342. For TTY call 1-833-677-6262.

The staff at Alberta dentures are amazing, friendly, and very helpful. Anastasiya is awesome at her craft. Every set of dentures I have had has been a struggle, she took it as a challenge to get me the best fit possible while keeping the dentures strong. She is very knowledgeable, accommodating and actually cares about you as a patient and not just a set of dentures or payment.
Thank you to everyone at Alberta Dentures you are awesome
